Grimsby Adam Kuehne Memorial Classic Champions
The Caledon Hawks Midget AE won their 3rd Tournament of the year winning the Adam Kuehne Memorial Classic in Grimsby, in back to back years !
Friday Oct 14th the Hawks played the Hometown Grimsby Peach Kings to begin the hosts tournament. Hawks opened the scoring early and often winning 5-0. Game 2 we played a fiesty West London Team going down 3-2 and an empty netter for there 1st loss of the Tournament.
Saturday Oct 15th the Hawks played the Halton Thunder from their OMHA loop, a close game the Hawks entered the 3rd with a 3-0 lead with Halton pulling their Goalie, they scored and empty netter to win the game 4-0 and finishing the round robin in 1st place which put them against the Hometown Peach Kings in the 1st semi-final on Sunday.
Sunday the Hawks come out strong and put the Hometown Peach Kings out of their Tournament beating them 5-0 which got them to the finals against their previous loss West London Hawks.
The Battle of the Hawks in the Final started out tough as London went up 1-0 early, while Caledon tied it up early in the second on a great cross crease pass. Unfortunately 30 seconds later West London scored the go ahead goal to go up 2-1. After that Caledon turned on the jets and never looked back with 4 unanswered goals to win the Game and Tournament 6-2 !
