Owen Sound Jr Attack Early Bird Tournament Champions, News, Midget AE, 2016-2017, REP (Caledon Minor Hockey Association)

The Caledon Hawks Midget AE team won their 2nd tournament of the year winning the Owen Sound Jr Attack Early Bird Tournament for the 2nd year in a row.

The Hawks started out slow losing a close game to the eventual finalists 2-1 the South Muskoka Bears which was a fast, determined team in game 1.

Game 2 saw us play the OMHA M. Midget Semi-Finalists from last season the Collingwood Blackhawks.  The Hawks had a convincing win beating Collingwood 6-2.

Game 3 the Hawks went up against last years OMHA Finalists that had a depleated lineup due to injury and suspensions and the Hawks handly beat them 9-2.

Game 4 was a classic battle against Halton, Halton's 'A' Team that has dropped down to play AE is a very strong good team and thanks to some great goaltending the Hawks shut out the Thunder 2-0

Game 5 moved us to the semi-finals back against the same strong Halton Thunder.  It was a tough battle back and forth and a penalty riddled game taking us to OT at 2-2.  With just over 4 minutes left in OT Hawks take the Thunder down to advance to the Finals 3-2

Game 6 saw us back against the fiesty South Muskoka Bears team that had previously beat us 2-1.  Hawks started out strong with 1 short handed goal and then quicly another goal giving us an early 2-0 lead.  In the second the Hawks added an insurance goal and the Bears got one back in the 3rd but it simply wasnt enough as the Hawks get an empty netter to secure the Championship 4-1.

Congrats to the boys and the coaching staff on there 2nd tournament win of the season !
