Caledon Hawks Midget "A" win International Silver Stick
The Caledon Hawks Midget "A" Hockey Club have won the prestigious International Silver Stick Hockey Championship played in Sarnia , Ontario the weekend of the 15th to 17th of January.


The  "Hawks" defeated the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Haverlock Hawks of Pennsylvania, Quinte West Hawks, Erindale Spitfires (both southern Ontario teams) to reach the final against the Thorold Blackhawks.

An 8 - 1 victory over Thorold capped an exciting weekend of top level "A" hockey played against the Silver Stick Regional Winners from both Canada and the United States. 

To win a tournament of this stature required a total team effort and many hours of planning, preparation and practice which is a testament to the boys commitment to the team, Caledon Hawks organization and the Town of Caledon.

The Midget "A" team is the third Caledon Hawks team to win the Silver Stick. Atom 1993 and Peewee AE in 2005.

The International Silver Stick Finals were founded in 1957 to promote citizenship and good will in North America between American and Canadian minor hockey players, coaches and fans.

The Hawks had three players named to the tournament all star team as goalies Justin Lowe and Dalton Cooke joined defenseman Anthony Esteves as some of the tournaments top contributors.
