Good Start to season
Well we played our first tournament, which was booked to get ourselves playing again and to welcome our two new players. We had only had three practices before hand, and not one did we have our entire team due to holidays, summer sports, etc..... I didn't expect much going into this tournament, it was like a training camp pre-season set of games. What I saw was a group of boys that have the talent, desire and commitment to have another great season.
After losing in 5 games in the Tri-county finals last year, we have high levels to live up to, and I believe we can again. Though our record was 0-2-2 in the tournament, we played some of the top teams including Oakville for our first game, they had eight team practices and a game that morning already, and if it wasn't for some "rust" we could have had them. As the tournament went on we got stronger and stronger, starting remembering things from last year, and getting our legs back. Saturday we tied both games, against two very good teams again. I am excited at the potential the boys have this year, they have the heart and desire and from that they can accomplish anything they put their mind to. I am very happy with the first weekend, and look forward to a great season.
