The Caledon Hawks U18AA travelled down the 410 to play in the Mississauga North Stars Scotiabank Cup Tournament this weekend.
This U18AA team is finding itself and its identity as they progress into the 2022/23 season.
It might be safe to say they found themselves this Weekend!
Opening the tournament with a hard fought, outstanding goaltending between the pipes by Nolan Godfrey and a 4-0 win over the
Greater Toronto Capitals.
Next up was the Ted Reeve Thunder... a disappointing outcome with too many penalties taken resulting in a 5-1 loss to even the
record at 1 and 1 and some inner self soul searching required.
Having been challenged, the team responded with wins over the Toronto Royals and the OHA with 2-1 wins, finding their stride
with relentless forecheck, great team defence and a true desire to be better and win!
Reaching the semi-finals and again playing the Toronto Royals, the Hawks used their aggressive team-oriented play to once again
defeat the Royals 2-1.
In the Finals, late afternoon against the Ted Reeve Thunder the Hawks fell 2-1 in a hard-fought loss. Caledon dominated the
majority of the play but could only generate the one goal.
Going forward, the U18AA Hawks look to continue and improve their fast, aggressive, hard-hitting, skilled play during Tri-County
play and the many more games ahead!
GO HAWKS !!
