Novice RS Capture Second Tournament Title
Submitted By Vanda Slaney on Thursday, March 14, 2019
Congratulations to the Caledon Hawks Novice RS team who won their second championship banner of the 2018-19 season at the Ange Giajnorio Memorial Winter Thaw Tournament....

The boys played great all throughout the tournament.  Their first day of the tournament the boys had two games. Their first game was against the Lawfield Thunder where the boys came out strong and finished with a 5-1 win.  Their second game in round robin that day was against the Whitby Wildcats, where they were once again triumphant and were able to defeat Whitby with a score of 6-3.

The following day the Hawks were put o the test, where they had to face their rival of the season, the Chedoke Express.  The game was intense, as the boys were being pressured hard by the Express.  The game ended in a 5-5 tie, and the Hawks were able to knock out the Express from the tourney and secure a spot for themselves in the Semi-Finals.

In the Semi-Finals the Hawks faced the Bradford Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs fought hard against the Hawks but our boys did not give and put pressure right back onto the Bulldogs.  The game went into overtime with a 4-4 tie, and eventually went into shootouts, where the boys were victorious and now able to compete in the Finals of the Tournament.

In the finals, the Hawks saw the return of the Whitby Wildcats.  They boys were determined to win, and came back with a vengeance to prevail over the Wildcats with a 7-1 win!

The boys have had an incredible 22-3-4 season so far, and they still have more to come!  Congratulations to the Novice RS team Team Officials and Players.
