The Minor Atom AA kids had been playing extremely well going into the tournament and had a championship as their goal. Although they didn't reach their goal this time and succumbed to defeat in the Semi Finals they can be proud of their run and look forward to the challenge of an OMHA run.
The first game saw the kids take on Centre Wellington Fusion. A team that although the Hawks had always bested had given them trouble in each game. This time the Hawks came to play and skated away with a 7-0 win. The second game was against the Stratford Warriors and the Hawks romped 10-2. The next day unfortunately went quite a different way with a regulation 4-2 loss to rival Dundas Blues.
In the Semi Final the Hawks once again struggled to bring their A game and needed a late goal to force overtime against a game Port Perry Predators team. The overtime was a wild affair that saw Port Perry pull it out 5-4 on a 2 players to 1 player finish.
