Congratulations to the Atom RS players and coaches for their Championship victory at the MHL Challenge Tournament, April 6 – 9, at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.
PreviewAfter a disappointing 4-1 loss to the LPC Wild 051 team on Friday morning, the Hawks rallied back to win against the Acton Chargers Friday afternoon with a score of 5-1. A place in the semi-finals was secured on Saturday after beating the LPC Wild 052 team 10-0.
The Hawks had to face the LPC Wild 051 again on Sunday morning to advance from the Semi's to the Finals. With tremendous teamwork, the Hawks were able to take the 051 team this time, with a score of 4-2.
In a surprise upset, the fourth place Meadowvale team defeated the first place Oakville Predators in the other semi-final match. The Hawks faced Meadowvale on Sunday afternoon in a fast-paced game, and in the end won the championship with a convincing score of 5-2.
