A lifetime power skating coach and hockey player, Carl knows that practicing your shot is a foundation for capitalizing on scoring opportunities. We have been out-shooting opponents regularly, and can take advantage of that with stronger shooting technique and power. Practice is the key!
Starting today, November 7th, the Atom A players are challenged to compete against each other and themselves in the 5000 Puck challenge. At practice today you will be given your own tracking sheet, complete with instructions - BUT OUR GOAL IS DIFFERENT.
Our team goal is to have everyone complete the 5000 puck challenge between now and Christmas, not in 10 weeks like the sheet says, but in 6 weeks. Yes it's a challenge!

For the few of you that have already done it, or are half way through it, well done, but for this competition you start over today!
The "Complete" PRIZE - every player (goalies included) that completes the 5000 puck challenge by our Christmas party will win a $50 gift certificate to Pro Hockey Life.
The "Compete" PRIZE - the one player who shoots or faces (goalies) the most pucks between now and our Christmas party (tentatively Dec 20th) will win tickets to a game at next year's WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY in Toronto! Exciting!!
This challenge is meant to be fun and difficult at the same time.
Of course, since I trust all of you, this is completely on the honour system.
