Congratulations to the Caledon Hawks Minor Atom AA kids on finishing as OMHA Finalists!
They battled thru 4 series, 18 games, 6 overtimes and almost 2-1/2 months of gruelling playoff action. With all the kids taking turns with the heroics the team managed to pull through the first three series before succumbing to the Finalist winners Kingston Canadians.
The first series the kids were up against Burlington Eagles, Oakville Rangers and the Stoney Creek Warriors with only one to advance. It took a 7th game but Caledon secured advancement with a commanding 5-2 victory on Burlington's home ice
The second series saw the kids have to travel to Belle River and come away with a series sweep.
The third series was up against rival Dundas Blues. The series proved to be a great matchup as expected with Caledon using the home advantage winning all three at home with a loss and tie on the road.
In the final Caledon lost its second coin flip and had to start in Kingston against the #1 ranked team. The kids tried hard but couldn't find any magic on the Kingston ice, dropping both games. The third game back in Caledon went to the wire with Kingston sneaking out a 2-1 overtime win.
The coaching staff is very proud of all the kids for such a great run and season.
