Hawks 4 Hunger - Skate Exchange - Picture Day
Hawks 4 Hunger – Skate Exchange – Picture Day Caledon Rep Hockey Massive Food Drive – Hawks4Hunger Nov 8th,9th The Hawks4Hunger Program is back again for our third year. The program is working, please contribute what you can . This homegrown initiative of the Caledon Hawks Rep Hockey Association is very simple, minor hockey teams raise food and funds to help support our local area food bank.

A surprise to most, but Caledon does need a well stocked food distribution centre despite the relative affluence of the community. The current building of “The Exchange” in Caledon (across from Party Magic) will act as a facility where food insecurity will be integrated into a broader curriculum of nutrition and wellness promotion. For the 2014-2015 season, the Caledon Hawks Rep Hockey Association is pleased to partner with the Mississauga Steelheads, and Caledon Community Services. All Caledon Hawks Rep teams have been challenged to collect even more food and/or cash donations for the newly designed “ Exchange” in 2104. The CRHA & the Mississauga Steelheads recognize these tremendous efforts and have been very supportive. The Steelhead organization has partnered with the CRHA to recognize our children and our community. Please join our event at the Albion Bolton Arena (Agricultural Building) On Saturday November 8th & Sunday November 9th 2014. Items in high demand are canned chicken/ham/turkey & fish, canned fruits & vegetables, sauces for pasta, cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter & jams, juice boxes, coffee & tea, toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, dental floss, saran, ziploc bags, aluminum foil & bathroom tissue, cash is always appreciated as are grocery gift cards - any contributions (with receipts) over $20 will be allocated a tax slip. As a community coordinator, team engagement and success for our team is paramount to me, I am so proud to be a part of this venture – I’m hoping as a team we can dig deep into our cupboards and wallets and enable the kids to volunteer at the event where necessary (volunteer hours will be given). Let’s try to contribute per child weight in food or monetary contributions. Skate/Equipment exchange and Team Pictures will also be scheduled this weekend so bring us your gently used and outgrown equipment so other children can give it new life – perhaps there will be something for you to use as well. More details to follow Thanks and God-Bless the Hawks Maria Ellis
