Brampton Silver Sticks Champions!!!
Congratulation Novice A!!! The kids fought hard, battled in every corner pushed back every attack and earned the moniker the Cardiac Kids as well as a 5-0 record. Their will was great. They had twice been finalists and would not accept the same fate this time. It's off to the North American Silver Stick Finals!!!
The Tournament started off a little sloppy with a 6-5 win over Halton Hills. The second match featured a dramatic comeback. Down 2-1 with a minute left Caledon scored twice in the last minute lifting them to a 3-2 victory. The winner coming with just 0.4 seconds left!
In the Quarter finals Novice A faced Brampton and won 6-2. Up next was an Epic Semi Final match against rival New Hamburg. After regulation it was all tied at threes. The Hawk kids did it again. Potting the winner with just two minutes left in the sudden death overtime.
The next Monday morning Novice A was off to the center ice at the Powerade center for a battle with what seemed like Goliath. The NobleKing Knights had only one loss in their entire season and had cruised through the regulation round with a 10-0 and 8-0 victories earning a bye to the Semis. In the Semis they doubled up an impressive Port Perry Team that had itself only 3 losses.
Not at all intimidated the kids played their hearts out. Striking first early and never backing down. Time after time frustrating the Knights. Backed by a noisy crowd and a solid game plan the kids supported each other all over the ice and played their most complete team game of the season. Beating the Knights 4-2. Mission accomplished!!!
Novice A can now enjoy a couple days rest but there is more ahead for this group.
