Halton Hills Best of the Best Finalists!
Leading up to the final game Novice A had their sites set on the championship. The opponent Sarnia Sting was undefeated and after beating their semi final opponent 9-0 had only allowed one goal in the whole tournament. The task looked daunting.

Not to the Novice A kids. Facing a similar situation from the previous tournament where they fell behind 4-0 early before they realized they could compete. This time they fought hard in every corner battle. Got bodies or sticks in front of every opponents attack and pushed their own attack with great determination. Backed by rock solid goaltending they took a 1-0 lead into the final period.

A few minutes into the third Sarnia struck with the equalizer. With the game tied and the longer 15-15-15 minute format the kids seemed to lose a little energy and opened the door for Sarnia to go up and then add two more. Resulting in a 4-1 score that did not reflect the game.

The tournament started with a 4-1 win over rival Halton Hills and another 4-1 victory over Kitchener White. Setting up a match of two undefeated teams with Sarnia edging Novice A 2-1.

Sunday mornings semi final featured a rematch with Halton and with Novice A coming out on top 2-1 of a hard fought game. Leading to the Sunday night finals.

The coaching staff was very proud of all the kids efforts all weekend. We applied our lessons from the last tournament and learned new ones along the way.
