Caledon Hawks Bantam AE Give back
The players of the Caledon Hawks Bantam AE Hockey Team know that each and every time they lace on their skates, they are lucky enough to play the greatest game there is! They also know that many do not get the opportunity to play the wonderful game of hockey, and that just getting the basic necessities of life are a challenge.

It is with this knowledge and their respect and thanks to the community that the team participated in the Caledon Rep Hockey Associations “Hawks 4 Hunger” Food Drive in support of the Caledon Community Services Food Bank. With the help of their parents the team organized a bottle drive on Oct 19th to raise funds as part of their donation. The boys worked hard for many hours collecting, thousands of bottles in the Valleywood community, then sorting, and delivering the bottles for a refund.

Furthering the effort each team member collected non perishable food items and cash donations in each of their neighbourhoods. The boys traveled door to door and explained that there are over 800 families in Caledon that rely on the food bank for their nourishment. This obviously made an impact on the community as the results were stunning.

On November 9th the Caledon Hawks Bantam AE Hockey Team delivered 10,382 lbs of food donations to the Hawks 4 Hunger Food Drive!

Coach Jeff Monaco said, “I am so proud of the boys. They play hard on the ice and all love the game. But, they know they are very fortunate to be able to play and this was a way they all thought they could give back and say thanks, and, that makes me even prouder!”

The team would like to thank all in the community who donated to this wonderful cause. The team also would like to thank sponsors Sand Castle Energy and Country Homes for their support. Also a thank you to parent Mark Harding who helped organise the very successful bottle drive.
