The Caledon Minor Atom RS team wins Gold in Hespler....

The Caledon Minor Atom RS team competed in their first tournament of the season at the Hespeler Olympics in Cambridge and although there was tight competition all the way through, managed to pull ahead in the final game, winning gold.

The initial round robin play saw Caledon with 2 close loses and a win placing them in 3rd place overall heading into the semi-finals. After a close loss to Whitby in the round robin play, Caledon faced them again in the semi-final match and managed to win in overtime, 3-2. This advanced the team to the finals against Ajax; a team they had previously defeated. The Caledon Hawks were once again successful, winning the final game 3-1.

All games were closely matched and the Minor Atom RS team showed great resilience and determination throughout the entire tournament. A special thanks coaches Jeremy Ross, Doug Bennett, Jim Schutz and trainer Rob Davis for guiding the team and for continuing to develop these players. Thanks to parents for their ongoing support of our hockey players and cheers from the stands.

Congratulations Caledon Hawks Minor Atom RS team for bringing home the gold!
